GGBS cement or ground granulated blast furnace slag is an innovative product that finds use in the manufacturing of concrete, wherein it is the partial substitute of OPC cement. Slag is a leftover of steel factories produced in the process of splitting up the iron from iron ore in blast furnaces. The slag is cooled using high-pressure water jets that result in the creation of granular particles. The granulated slag is subsequently dried and ground to a very fine powder, known as GGBS cement.
